GREY SPINEL
Grey spinel is a very rare variety of Spinel that is mainly found in Burma. The color is incredibly unique as there are no other natural grey transparent gemstones available. With a. proper polish it can even appear to have a metallic luster. Spinel is a very underrated member of the gemstone family.Spinel crystals form so perfectly, that in Burma they are said to be “nat thwe” or “polished by the spirits.” Some of the most sought-after spinel was found in 2007 in Mahenge, Tanzania, and has an incredible hot pink glow. Spinel is a colorful, natural gem that has recently been inducted as an August birthstone, along with its predecessor, peridot. It is also the gem for the 22nd anniversary, and is believed to encourage great passion, devotion and longevity. Mahenge Spinel was found in 2007, and is a very rare gemstone famous for it's intense hot-pink color. As a matter of fact, the color is so saturated it is said to actually glow! Mahenge Spinel is found only in Mahenge, Tanzania, and is very sought-after by collectors. Spinel is a colorful, natural gem that has recently been inducted as an August birthstone. It is also the gem for the 22nd anniversary, and is believed to encourage great passion, devotion and longevity.
